C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures, a digital animation and effects company with studios
in Toronto and Berlin, Germany, designs and creates digital visual effects for
feature films, television and movies-of-the-week.
During the past decade its artists have individually won more than 50 national
and international awards. C.O.R.E. received the 1995 International Monitor
award and the 1996 Gemini award for the television series TekWar,
and most recently C.O.R.E. completed effects for Fly Away Home and Mimic.
C.O.R.E.'s chief executive officer is actor, director and writer William Shatner.
The animation directors Bob Munroe, John Mariella, Derek Grime and
Kyle Menzies lead a staff of 17 animators in Toronto and another 12 in the
Berlin studio.
The studios, equipped with Silicon Graphics hardware, run a variety of visual
problem-solving tools including Prisms, Alias, Flint, Renderman and Amazon Paint,
as well as proprietary software.
