hey, about the colour of the rooms - note that they got into a huge shitstorm when they were in the RED room? Maybe that's a play on the notion that red has a mental effect. This would lead one to conclude that the colours were ordered to affect the subject's critical thinking and emotions.
And about the god thing - (S)he does test people with deadly traps and mental torture. It's called reality.
I think the whole movie is about some guy playing with a rubik's cube and we are looking at his mental process.
